The proliferation of pyroninophilic cells in the spleen following burn

Abstract
According to Loh and Kim"¢¥ (1964) cortisone, DOCA, ACTH and adrenalectomy induced the prominent prolifeiation of ¢¥pyroninophilic cells in the peritrabecular region of the rat spleen.
On the other hand, it is well known fact that injury such as trauma and burn induced hypersecretion of ACTH resulting in the increase of corticoids secretion.
Therefore authors intented to reveal whether the proliferation of pyroninophilic cells ¢¥occurred the spleen following burn or not.
Material and Methods
Albino rats weighing about 200gm. were used. Skin burn was induced by applying boiling water to its back of normal rats and adrenalectomized rats.
The results were as follows;
1. turn induced marked proliferation of- pyroninophilic cells around the trabecula of spleen.
2. Adrenalectomy also induced the prominent proliferation of pyroninophilic cells in the peritrabecular regions of the spleen.
